App slow down?

I’m not 100% sure if its some sort of card, but over multiple devices I’ve recently noticed a significant slow down of multiple devices using the App. The browser seems ok on a PC, so i was wondering if others have noticed anything?

I don’t think anything in cards or what’s displayed has changed much. I did try to move 3 cards from Apex charts to Plotty ones. But i’m fairly sure the slow down started way before this. But to test I have removed those cards and it still seems slow.

I’ve noticed this on a Samsung phone, a Lenovo Tablet, and 2 Fire HD 10’s - All are utterly crawling. You can tap a page tab or even just the 3 top lines Main menu button and it can take utterly ages to up and just show the list. Like 10-15seconds…

It’s either the App or, i am wondering if this could even be linked to the HA updates on the main system… 2025.2.5 currently and it feels like it’s been going on for 3-4 weeks. So many tied to 2025.2? Not sure looking to see if others have any similar reports.

I’ve just tried removing the app, and testing a previous release form December. It also still seems incredibly slow.

Is there any way that a latest release of the main HA could be causing it to be slow in delivering data to the app or devices? I’m not really sure but it’s really Painful to even think about using anything apart from a PC and browser window now. It just doesnt load or really function well.

So I’m not really sure what to try.

Just tried the old December version & changing the long url to the local IP address to see if there was any issue with things from external access and to see if that made the speed comparable to the local IP route I use on the PC browser. Didn’t make a hoot of a difference.

SO i have no idea what’s causing this or where to go next.

Think I might be experiencing similar. Just recently, my tablet displays, two of them, seem quite sluggish to refresh. The app seems really sluggish on my Samsung tablet too. There was an update to the app on 9th Jan this year.

We’ll see what happens in 2025.3.

Yea I’ve spoke to someone else and he thought his phone was getting old, and bought a new one and the same issue.

It’s ultra slow. One some things I can click a tab, and it can be 30 seconds to change or longer.

Currently as i tried the December version before this 9th January one, I was starting to rule that out.

Currently trying to hide any cards that might be considered complex. Though they worked fine before.

It would be amazing if there was someone on that team that could just give a Nod and say yes we have noticed this etc. Just as an idea there is possibly an issue.

That link gave me an idea to look up. Then I stumbled across this about device trackers. It jogged my memory that I started to try add Bluetooth a good few weeks ago using the onboard Dell Wyse Chip. But it doesnt detect easily so guessing lack of support. But looked at Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE i think. I am wondering if the issues started at this time.

I just looked under Settings/Entities and noticed 40,000… It seemed a lot. there were masses of device_tracker._**__** there.

Managed to just basically remove the Bluetooth instances under integrations for both first then I emptied the known_devices.yaml file (just downloaded a copy first). Then rebooted HA. Entities have dropped down to 1698 now.

This has DRASTICALLY improved things. It destroyed performance.

Tabbing between things and adding everything back in is almost instant now!

If anyone is looking for a slow down I suggest checking this area out.
