Hi guys I’m a newbie in learning stage.
I have an AppleTV I successfully added the Apple TV integration
and I use the HomeKit bridge to import my devices to Apple home, now I would like to set up a thread network but in companion app I don’t see my Apple TV keychain, I have set ipv6 in my router but no luck, the only think I see is a eero router which I not been using from long time, thanking you guys in advance for any help or suggestions
Thank you @Saoshen
yes as mentioned in my first post I setup ipv6 in my home router also my matter integration is added and working but still can’t see AppleTV keychain in companion app
2 questions. Are you sure the AppleTV you have own has thread, some versions do not? Do have any Matter over thread devices connected with the appleTV in apple home directly first to establish the apple thread network?
If you want to use the appleTV as a TBR you may need to shut off thread in the Eero as the 2 are not currently easy to integrate and will compete/interfere with each other when separate.
Thank you @vesalius
My Apple TV I just received a month ago I beleive is latest model that Apple produced up to date: Apple TV 4K Wi‑Fi with 64GB storage (3rd generation) no too sure where to check if has a thread support. My eero router has been put away some times ago as we don’t use anymore, no I have not directly added any matter devices to Apple TV I just bridged devices from HomeKit to Apple home using HomeKit bridge in homeassistant, I will try to add a matter device to AppleTV see if that works
Yea, the WiFi only version of the AppleTV 4K doesn’t support being a Thread border router. The WiFi/Ethernet version does. I have one of the latter, and it is acting as my sole Thread border router (so I can avoid having another dongle on my Yellow just for Thread).
