Aqara Blinds Z2M status changing (was closed, was open)

Hi guys,
I’ve recently brought the Aqara blinds motor and it work really well accept for when it doesn’t :roll_eyes:

for some reason the status reported on the blinds changes without the blinds physically changing

as you can see my Automation opened the blinds, yet it later changes status twice within the same time. and it one part reported “Was closed”, yet they weren’t.

Is anyone else seeing this issue or how can you offer a solution

I am seeing this as well, trying to find a cause and ways of clearing the issue with an automation as it stops the blind closing at sunset if the status shows it is closed.

I need to check the mqtt current_position status to see if creating a new sensor may work better than using the cover sensor for its status.

Will keep you updated.

Hey,
I’ve held off coming back to this just incase something changed.

Roughly 4 weeks after setting this up. The issue went away.

I then went ahead and brought another one for another windows, same thing happened again. The first one was remained fine. Again 4 weeks later the second one stopped having the above issue.

It been a few months now and they are working perfectly fine.

I can’t explain why, which is troubling

That is weird.

I only got mine at Christmas so its a new toy for me to play with. I have had to re-pair it 3 times in Z2M as it seemed to have lost connectivity, but I mainly have the issue where the blind is open, but it is reporting closed.

I have added my new state sensor in NR instead of using the cover sensor. Time will tell if this corrects it or not.
