My idea is to have different parameters of the dimmer depending on the time of day. I set up a couple of scenes to experiment, and I see the following. The min and max brightness are set correctly. In my scenario actually changing minimum brightness is not needed, as it’s calibratet to the bulb. So, anyway, the issue is with the On Level. I understand that the device has its own memory for the value it’s set to when it switches off and that it sets the same when it’s switched back on. It is useful and great. However, I expected that if I change that value externally (via zigbee), the next time I turn the light on, it will use that externally set value, but that’s not what seems to happen. It’s like it’s set but is overridden by whatever value that is stored in the dimmer’s memory. Does anybody know of a way to change this behavior?
Ideally, I would like to actually control the on value depending on the time of day. Like, at daytime it’s fine to switch on to whatever’s been memorized from last time. But, say, at night I would always like to switch on to a rather low level but still be able to turn up, if I have to, If I get up to go to the bathroom and click the light on, I don’t want to be blinded. At the same time, if it’s night and there’s a spider, I want to be able to turn up to 100%. So controlling max level only is not great…
