I know. Probably an error on the Z2M page where is shows hold_up and double_up. Was really hoping this was an endgame switch for me. Just want one with a relay that can be decoupled and dim up and dim down in an elegant way. Back to the drawing board.
Yes and MARS technology⊠There is a small delay with the HA automation. Directly controlled smart bulbs was the main reason I bought the switches.
For MARS tech you need an aqara hub right? I am running Z2M. Have also tried with Matter but that gives even fewer options. Dont know what delays you are seeing with HA automations, I typically dont see any.
Did you connect a Neutral wire to it? Without Neutral, you wonât get power monitoring.
I did! Iâm getting other metrics you donât get without a neutral, like temperature, but not power monitoring. I assume, as you mentioned, a future commit will fix it.
Iâve got 2 double switches and I am trying to bind them together using Z2M. However, regardless of which endpoint I choose (on either of switches), it does not offer clusters for binding.
Example - I choose endpoint 1 on first switch, as destination i choose switch 2, endpoint 1 (or any other), but no clusters are available.
I am trying to bind it to get 2-way lights without Z2M (HA) being involved. Anyone has other experience or can advise?
I am connected without neutral, and I do get temperature readings. That is not dependant on neutral wire.
I would suggest to check your wiring
Hello everyone,
I just bought a dual relay H2 switch because Iâm considering replacing my H1 switches at home.
Overall, itâs a great switch, and I like it, but there are still some drawbacks that arenât ideal.
The top switch in decoupled mode behaves a bit strangelyâit has a delay that canât be turned off. It seems to wait for a double-click to occur, even though it doesnât support anything other than a single click (at least with the Zigbee2MQTT integration).
Iâve already contacted Aqara, asking them to either remove this delay when multi-click mode isnât enabled or add an option to toggle multi-single mode for the top switch in decoupled mode. They responded with a generic message: âWe will forward your request to the developers.â
I havenât tried binding yet, but Iâll let you know if it works.
Let me know if you are able to get binding working. I just tried to bind OnOff to a group of Ikea Tradfri bulbs and it didnât do anything.
The same issue. I canÂŽt even bind the switch to a single ikea bulb.
I bought a single rocker Aqara switch h2 which supports Zigbee and also matter. I wanted to pair it through z2m which is the Zigbee support, just to discover that the default is matter. Changing to Zigbee requires apparently the Aqara hub which i donât have and donât want to buy. Does any of you having the same problem and found already a solution? Many thanks in advance, RenĂ©.
You donât need the Aqara hub, the Aqara app connects to the switch via Bluetooth. Directly when it connects you can change the switch to Zigbee, it will start updating the firmware. After that you can set it in pairing mode and connect it to HA.
Thanks a lot, Iâll try the Aqara app.
I actually see all these event types for the single H2 button under Developer Tools â States:
hold_up, hold_down, single_up, single_down, double_up, double_down, release_up, release_down
However hold_up, double_up, and release_up are not triggered when physically pressing the button - events for down are all working fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Does anyone know how to fix this?
The top buttons do not support double clicking or holding, which is a bit disappointing, but it seems like Aquara canât or doesnât want to support this feature, as was already commented above:
Would this be something that could be fixed in the code? Is this on Aqara side or on Z2M side? It looks like it would be a bugfix: As I mentioned before the possible values hold_up, double_up, release_up exist when looking into developer tools â states.
If anyone working for Aqara reads this: When promising to fix this I will buy 27 more of these. If not Iâll return the one I have for testing purposes. Either way I am going to write an Amazon review about it, could be good or bad.
I have a feeling, that this needs to be fixed in the switches (never managed to sniff the Zigbee traffic, though). The previous generation behaves exactly the same - the wireless (battery-powered) switch has all the events, just like the lower buttons in the new generation, and the upper buttons behave just like the wired version of the previous generation.
I would love to see an initial press event from the switch immediately when any button is pressed, before it waits for the potential second click. And also I would love to see the support for a long press on the âwiredâ buttons.
Moreover, I would really like if the up and down buttons behaved like Ikea Rodret - up turns the light on, down turns it off, and long press is a dimmer. They could introduce it as another mode, just like the decoupled mode.
The final issue I have with the switches is the missing way of resetting them directly into a Zigbee mode. That is the main reason why I bought the previous generation instead. (But if it is only about some bluetooth communication, it should be possible to create an integration for the initial setup.)
So, to fix these issues, we need to grab someone form Aqara and make sure the communication happens, rather than ending up in a 1st-level supportâs spam box. That is the only way we get the updated firmware. Is there someone with the contact? ![]()
I have just installed a bunch of these switches - 2 and 4 button versions.
They all work fine via Zigbee2MQTT but not in ZHA.
When will full ZHA support be added for these switches? How long does it normally take for ZHA to add new devices?
I also have a couple of these installed. Unfortunately support in ZHA is very minimal, see [Device Support Request] Aqara Light Switch H2 EU · Issue #3957 · zigpy/zha-device-handlers · GitHub
Itâs fully supported in z2m, but I refuse to change/reconfigure my complete Zigbee setup just for this device ![]()
Well if you used z2m from the begging you wont have this issue.
You know⊠when âregularâ tell you that the only proper way to use zigbee is to use zha show him middle finger.
There isnât such a thing as proper and in proper way of using things in home assistant.
If it works then it works and stick with that.
This may be your first device which is only fully supported in Z2M, but I promise if wonât be your last. I suggest you bite the bullet and migrate now while your network is still relatively small - youâll thank me later.
