Chances are your switch is still in matter mode. You need to switch it to zigbee mode. Read this and scroll down to the “Changing Communication Protocol” section.
Hey!
I can see that you are able to see the the double click on the wireless button.
I connected the H2 to Aqara M3 (zigbee) and then added the M3 to Home assistant.
Now all the switches are under Matter in Home Assistant via the M3.
I don’t have the double press/hold event in home assistant.
Do you know what I am doing wrong?
Thank you!
I could be wrong, but perhaps the lower switch actions are not exposed to Home Assistant in Matter. I’m using Zigbee2MQTT and they are exposed.
According to the product page, Matter has no support for Wireless switch mode (double press & hold). You need to switch to zigbee to get them
Hi,
are there any firmware updates for zigbee mode? I have not received any yet using z2m.
It seems you’re right. I can only see the single press also for the lower button.
Strange that for the wireless switch h1 I can see the hold and the double press.
I hope that Aqara will make an update at the least for the lower button
Those refer to the features under Aqara app. I’ve connected all the switches via zigbee to the M3 and then I connected the M3 via matter to Home Assistant.
I can see the double press under the Aqara app, but not in Home assistant.
It seems that who connected the switches via a 3rd party zigbee controller has more functions in home assistant ![]()
I am using these switches, but some will be in 2 and 3 way switching. Can anyone advise on a wiring diagram that I can use?
We can’t advise on specific wiring for your lights, but I’ve recently replaced a few 2 way and 2 way plus intermediate switching circuits with H2s. Technically speaking, you can’t just replace a 2 way switching circuit with relay activated switches, because relays don’t cater for the way 2 way switching works.
So, what you need to identify is the switch that actually connects to the light. Then, provided you have a neutral at that switch you can simply wire up the H2 as a normal smart switch, ie live and neutral to power the switch and then connect the switch live to L1. The trick then is what to do with the second switch. What I did was repurpose one of the 4 core cable’s conductors as a neutral for the second switch. Then you have a live and neutral for switch 2 which you only use as a trigger for the relay on switch 1.
If this sounds complicated, it’s because it is and unless you know what you’re doing, you’re best getting a qualified electrician to do it for you.
OK thanks. As I’ve got neutrals in each location, I don’t need to worry about re-purposing a wire. Basically what I need to do is just identify the switch that goes to the light, and connect that one via the relay, and use the other switch as a paired wireless switch = only connecting the L and N. with 3 switches, the same for the third.
If you have a neutral at each switch position then you don’t have what I would regard as 2 way switching. Switching is always done in the live conductor so the 2nd switch in a 2 way switching configuration does not need a neutral. You normally see a 4 core cable, so 3 core and CPC with the 3 cores being brown, black and white. Perhaps someone has had the foresight to add an extra neutral conductor at each switch position ![]()
I had such high hopes for this switch but… have the morons really put the leave network/reset command so that it triggers half the time I’m trying to use the “hold” actions? Has this been updated in FW I haven’t got or is it really this monumentally stupid?
Weird. It should only reset the network if you do double press + hold for 5s. Got this from the H2EU product page (ignore the “US” in the title)
I agree. And it even says “top button”. I definately do not hold the top buttons as it does nothing. I mean it’s possible I double press and then hold the bottom button but that should be a fully valid use case… I have another switch I will check as well and update FW.
Found someone with same/similar issue on reddit:

yes, its a new house build - so I asked for neutrals at each switch
Hello everyone, sorry for reviving this old post.
I am moving to a new place soon and I am planning to go a little wild with Automations. (My wife is pretty sceptical) I have not done any automations yet, except connecting my Cleaning Robot with HA Green once and then put it back into the basement until we move.
I am planning to make out switches smart as well. The apartment is brand new, but it’s a rental so I can’t really influence what’s built already. I am looking to buy some switches to replace existing ones. Since we’re also planning to add quite a few smart mood lights (like LED strips behind the curtains etc) I thought it would be great to have switches that can control multiple lights, so as to not add any extra switches to the walls. Got an Apple TV, but also a ZBT-1 for the HA Green. I was told that Matter is the new standard that I should be aiming for for my devices which is why I came across the Aqara H2 and wondering if it’s what I’m looking for.
What does the 4 Button-2 Channel mean? 2 physical buttons out of which one turns off the light while the other one turns it on and the other 2 are programmable to any other smart device? (For example the light strips) To use the bottom buttons, do I need to flash the Switch to Zigbee via the Aqara App or has this been figured out?
Can I program the buttons to Single push: on/off, double push: dim to 50% (+turn on if it was off)?
thanks for the help!
You’ve almost got it. The switch has 4 actual buttons you can press. Two of which (top 2) operate a relay each to switch power on and off for 2 separate circuits. The bottom two are just microswitches that register a press so can be used to trigger automations.
The top 2 switches can be decoupled from the relays and also used to trigger automations. Decoupling the switch from the relay prevents inadvertent loss of power to smart bulbs on that circuit, if you have them.
Has anybody managed to control the bottom LEDs via zigbee2mqtt. I use down_left and down_right to switch additional zigbee lamps through an automation in HA and it would be nice if the state of these lights would also be visible on the switch (like for the LEDs for the internal relais on top left & right)
Anyone who could not connect the switch to HA: I had to download Aqara app, and swtich the protocol (I guess via BLE) from Matter to Zigbee. After this, the leds were blinking purple-ish pink-is, and could connect to HA via ZHA.
When changing from matter to zigbee it also downloaded firware, so I don’t know but it might not be possible only by clicking the switch?..
Edit: I can’t make to bottom (wireless ) switch working on the “2 Buttons 1 Channel” version.
