Aqara Remote Light Switch H1 2 Rocker

I have some 2 rocker battery Aqara Light switches which carry triggers (single press, double press, and long press for each rocker). They are currently on smarrtthings hub using an edge driver ZigBee Switch MC

I tried to link them by Zigbee2MQTT and ZHA with no success. I have Google and there are articles about quirks etc but nothing really makes much sense.

I am trying to remove my Smart things hub so really want to move these to the Zigbee. On my SMLight coordinator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Ks2,

First pick ZHA or Z2M. Put this string into a search engine:

site:community.home-assistant.io Z2M or ZHA

(Lots of posts about that)

Then you need to have a coordinator device and set up youe coordinator software with it in HA.

Then your devices may already be working, but if you need quirks,…

Thanks. I have sonoff devices already connected to HA so coordinator is working. I’ll look through the quirks links and see if that gives me the right process to make it work

What do you mean by “no success”?

Did they pair & show up as unsupported? Or did they not pair at all?

Asking because I have both the H1M & H1 Pro versions of those switches. They are both supported in Z2M & quite easy to pair - just hold down one of the switch buttons until it flashes.

It paired and then didn’t so inconsistent. Mine are battery operated not permanent power. Are yours the same ?

What do you mean? You only need to pair them once to get them connected, so either they paired or they didn’t.
If you mean they dropped off the network some time after pairing, note that the battery powered versions are end devices and not routers. You’re gonna need a few zigbee routers around if they’re far from the coordinator.

No. Mine are all wired versions

I was initially able to pair the device using Zigbee2MQTT but it only had battery and a couple of other entities, no switches. I removed it and tried ZHA however I couldn’t get it to pair agter trying many times. I have since re-paired it with smartthings with no issue, pairing immediately. I then messaged here but have not yet had they chance to give it another go.

That’s normal and expected for a switch with only buttons and no actual relay.
