Aquara Remote Switch keeps losing triggers when Zigbee dongle goes offline

So I have a Aquara Remote Switch with two rockers. Setup is pretty easy. I just add it to the Zigbee automation. After successfull install I make two automations. One for the left button: when button pressed turn on a light and the same for the right button for a different light. Works like a charm…

But then when for what ever reason the Zigbee dongle is not available for a bit because of restart or a shorter or longer of the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Pus V2 afterwards the remonte switch is still connected but lost its available triggers…

I have been looking for ways to “fix” that in an easy way like using the “reconfigure device” option. But that does not work.

I have to remove the switch and then re add. Then I have no issues setting it up again. Works fine the until the next failing of the Zigbee dongle.

Update: Just happened again. I just ran some Home Assistant updates. After the updates the triggers are gone again…

Whenever I had frustrations with an Aqara battery device holding its settings (presuming you’re using the wireless 2 rocker switch), I would:

. reset device to factory defaults
. remove battery for 10 or so sec. before reinstalling battery
. re-pair the device

Removing the battery seemed to be the key for success. It was a general tip picked up over a year ago, when (IIRC) I had similar issues with one of A’s PIR sensors.

Don’t think that is the solution. I actually have two of those. They are new. Both have the same issue. Does seem more of a software issue…
