Aquara window sensor not updating

Hi , hope everyone is well and enjoying the uks nice weather…

I’ve just purchased 3 of the Aqara window/door sensors. They are nice and small and added to HA very easily.

But now I have a problem… they are not updating in HA. They show as closed even when open (yes checked the magnets are close enough)

I also noticed in the Zigbee settings it states power outages at 27 when it’s a battery powered device .

So confused as to why it’s not updating and why Zigbee is saying power outages for a battery device.

As anyone used these devices ? Any ideas what I might need to do.

Zigbee is via MQTT by the way with a network co-ordination.

Thank you

Andy

Yes.

First things first: It’s Aqara, not AqUara. If you fix the spelling, people searching for issues with these devices are more likely to find your thread.

Secondly: your issues are almost certainly because you have interference or not enough routers. Read this to understand how zigbee works, and why end-devices like your window sensors require zigbee routers if they’re too far away from your coordinator.

Third: check the batteries on those things. Even if they’re “new”, they could have been sitting on a shelf for a couple of years. The power outage reporting 27 could be an indication of either a failing battery or the issues I mentioned in point 2 above.

Sorry if my one spelling mistake offends.

The sensor in question has a link quality of 255 as it’s less than a metre from a repeater.

quick update hopefully without any spelling mistakes.

I reset the sensor and this time it appears to have fixed the issue.

Not sure why this occurred but its fixed.

The spelling advice was only to ensure your question/issue would get maximum exposure.

There are so many threads added daily so honestly spelling matters!
