AR Smart IR Builder

AR Smart IR Builder is a custom Home Assistant integration that provides a UI-based workflow for learning IR/RF commands and building device profiles.

The goal of this integration is to remove the need for manual JSON creation and fragmented IR learning workflows by bringing everything directly into Home Assistant.

Features

  • Learn IR/RF commands using Broadlink remotes
  • Store and manage device profiles internally
  • Automatically create entities based on commands:
    • Climate
    • Fan
    • Media Player
  • Media player support (power, volume, sources, apps)
  • Climate support with temperature detection (e.g. cool_24)
  • Fan support using preset commands (e.g. fan_low)
  • Export devices to SmartIR-compatible JSON
  • Built-in sidebar panel for managing devices

Requirements

  • A configured Broadlink remote (remote entity)
  • Home Assistant (recent version recommended)

How it works

  1. Add the integration via Devices & Services
  2. (THEN LOOK FOR AR SMART IR IN SIDEBAR AFTER INTEGRATION HAS LOADED)
  3. Learn commands using the provided service
  4. Save the device profile
  5. Entities are created automatically
