If you enable that option i told above, and Ariela detects VPN connection then the internal IP address will be used for connection (which i suppose that address is available via VPN). Can you confirm that Ariela is connecting to HA when your are over VPN connection?

If you are trying to stream from Ariela (select a entity camera ) it will stream?
yea the same camera i am trying to send through notifications has been in ha for a long time, I have a couple ipads on the walls and they actually stream the cam all the time on lovelace. ive also viewed them on my phone.

I didnt notice you could use entity name. I was looking at the example with the url for the cam. For some reason it doesnt work when using the same url i use to add it to ha but it works if i use the entity and thats good enough for me. Im really sorry to waste your time but I REALLY appreciate you walking through it and helping me!!!
I am glad to hear its working. Indeed entity_id is required in order to start streaming. In fact a url video stream should work also but depends if the format can be decoded or not by the phone

Yes. Just click on a light entity and a extended menu should appear.
I use love lace, I can switch on/off, dim but I donât see a menu.
Click next to the lamp icon (not on it, which would turn it on or off), press and hold for about a second, a menu will pop up.
