Ariela - Home Assistant Android Client

I think if the broker address is a non-private IP address, then it would be reasonable to connect to the MQTT broker independently of an HA connection. Perhaps a simple setting to indicate the MQTT broker should be connected to independently of the HA connection?

Well is not actually that simple. You will still need a trigger to start the MQTT connection. Also think if the connection is running in background., should a new notification be shown for this in order to inform the user. Still i will think on the best method for this and i will let you know what i came up too. If you have any idea for handling this case do not hesitate to let me know

Hello everybody,

Version 1.2.4.8 is out.
What’s new:

  • added call info MQTT sensor
  • allowing MQTT connection without a username and password
  • add more info button to trigger MQTT sensor instructions dialog
  • fixed automatic reconnection issue regression
  • added clear current config for external server access button
  • added button to copy MQTT sensors instructions to phone memory + small UI changes

Please test it and let me know how it goes.
Also, i am currently working on some online documentation for Ariela. MQTT Sensors documentation can be found here: http://ariela.surodev.com/category/documentation/mqtt/

i think you should add the possibilty to change the base topic for the mqtt autodiscovery.
people can set any base topic they like on home assistant, so not all will listen to homeassistant/#

Yes, i was thinking on that also, it will be done on the next version i believe.

Is it possible to separate the “permanent notification” and the Notifications ?

Problem is they get grouped in my notification dropdown, and that hides the “actions” on the notification, I have to expand twice to get to them.

I will investigate this and let you know.

In the meantime version 1.2.4.9 is out.
What’s new:

  • added SMS sender capability (you can use Home Assistant to send SMS from your phone)
  • fixed crash when enabling Device tracking
  • fixed crash of MQTT enabling
  • adding customizable MQTT discovery option
  • put previous values in MQTT setup screen

SMS Sender documentation: http://ariela.surodev.com/2018/12/21/sms-sender/

Also i’m not sure if you read my previous post, but Ariela has a Patreon page now. Any help there will be amazing.

Hi all,

I’ve just downloaded the free version for testing (and I’m ready to buy the premium version).

One question: do I have to set something in device_tracker.yaml in order to let ariela see my phone?
Because I can’t see my position in the map right now.

Hello,

In order yo make device tracker work you will have to put in your configuration.yaml “device_tracker” entry and also enable device tracker in Ariela.
Please let me know how its working or if you have other questions

More details you can find here: http://ariela.surodev.com/2018/11/07/device-tracker/

My device_tracker file exists (but is blank at the moment).
I can see mqtt sensor but nothing regarding my position in map.

Can yoy enable debug mode in Ariela please and send me the logs? Thank you

Stuck trying to connect. I accidentally logged out and now when I try and reconnect it will not. I have uninstalled the App (Pro) and started from scratch, using a long lived token that I used before, it appears to accept the token but it will not connect. Nothing appearing in the logs.

It thinks it is connected as If I go into the server settings it offers me the usual menus, just they do nothing. There is no option to reenter a token (as I presume it thinks it can connect). All I get on the screen is a ‘connect’ button which, when pressed, appears to do nothing (no spinning wheel).

Stuck.

I will add a confirm dialog when pressing logout in order to prevent accidentally press.

If you redo the setup it will work? Also could you please share the logs so i can investigate? Please let me know also if i should send you the debug version.

Great!

So I have played around and not what I changed but it seems to be working now. It might have been simply an HA restart that solved it.

All good!

Glad to hear its working now. Please let me know if you have any other issues.

Loving this app. I sent an email to the creator explaining how much I love this application.

I do have a quick question, maybe it’s been covered I’m not sure, but I know HANotify is suppose to allow actionable notifications. I haven’t been able to get it to work. Maybe it’s me, or has this not been implemented in Ariela?

Great app, don’t know if it’s an issue but the order of the cards are alfabetically , not the way is declare in the ui-lovelace.yaml any way to fix this?

Hi,
Please fallow the instructions from here: Push Notifications – HANotify – Ariela in order to setup push notifications.
If still not work please let me know.

Thank you, i am glad you like the app. I will add a fix for the order in the next release. Thank you for letting me know.

Also, Merry Christmas everybody
