Ask Google to read 'input_select' value

Hi all,
I have an ‘INPUT_SELECT’ with 5 textual options (basically, a garbage reminder).

How can I ask Google to read actual value?

I’ve already exsposed the input_select domain, and I can see it in my Home app (I only see the ‘friendly name’)

The way I would do it is:

Add a input_boolean with any name.
Make sure this boolean is exposed to Google.
Make a routine in Google Home that make it more friendly to turn on the boolean. “Garbage status”?
Make an automation to TTS the state of the input_select and turn off the boolean.

I suppose I need more help.

I don’t have a smart speaker. I would only use my smartphone, asking Google what garbage I have to trash.
How can I tts to my phone? (or my wife’s phone, if she’ll use her phone)
