Assist not working with thermostats

Hello,

I have two thermostats that work partially with Alexa. But when I ask Assist to do anything with “Thermostat - Downstairs” it says it “Sorry I am not aware of any device called thermostat downstairs”. Assist works with all my other devices I’ve tried, not sure what’s causing the problem with the thermostats. Maybe the hyphen?

Probably… Just add an alias to each entity without the hyphen.

Thank you, the hyphen was the culprit. I was not aware you could set aliases for devices. Very good to know!
