I am quite new to Home Assistant (and I am also a 78 years old guy!). Over the past weeks, as I was setting HA, I decided to integrate Philips Hue. The Hue integration has been working well but as I also integrated SmartThings, I have Hue devices coming from both the Hue and the SmartThings integrations. I searched the community (and the Web) in order to find easy to follow ‘step-by-step’ instructions on how to properly remove that Philips Hue integration without having to completely reset Home Assistant but found no such information. Can I remove the Philips Hue integration without having to completely reset my Home Assistant Green hub? Thanks.
I don’t see why not - but then I’ve only removed/added Hue hubs, not the integration entirely.
In your shoes I’d do a full backup, followed by removal of the hub, then removal of the integration. With backup as insurance - why not?
- Open Home Assistant in your web browser.
- In the left sidebar, click on “Settings”.
- Go to “Devices & Services”.
- In the Integrations section, find the Philips Hue integration box. It might be labeled something like:
- “Hue (bridge)” or
- “Philips Hue: [IP address]”
- Click on the three dots (•••) in the top right corner of that box.
- Select “Delete” or “Remove”.
- You may be asked to confirm. Confirm the deletion. That’s it — the Hue integration will be removed.
That is as simple as that… By deleting the Philips Hue integration, all devices and scenes will also be deleted (removed) from HA…
I thought that it would have been more complicated to remove the integration.
Thank you for the suggestion/solution.
