the voip integration does not work properly with asterisk and hangs quite a lot.
I make one that relies more on asterisk.

What integration did you use ? I use myself the official one and no problem at all with it, I even create calls in the system from HA.
What did you change compared at official one ?

Are you using asterisk?
As main voip system.
FreePBX to be precise but it’s Asterisk underlying and the integration connects with Asterisk part, not FreePBX one 
The Asterisk/FreePBX system is in same LAN than HA, it’s not a remote instance/cloud.
Are you able to get the asterix dial plans? And client registry?
If i use the voip the connection hangs. Does not connect or anything in between.
Yep no problem (did you do the proper setup on the Asterisk side before configuring the integration ?) Even trunks in and out and I get the status for each extension when it’s dialing, ringing,…
It’s running since a year without problem and it’s Asterisk 18.16.0 (FreePBX 16)
I hate this. Hass development does not support anything other than the pots gimmick. Now i hear it can be done.
I mean the voip assist.
not the integration to manage calls and states.
