ASUS Firmware 3.0.0.6.102_39xx blocks internet

Since about March 2026, my HASS has been losing internet connection, with “ha network info” returning “supervisor_internet: false” randomly, but then persistently after it happens. I have a supervised installation on an Odroid-M1. In the past, mucking around with IPv4 and IPv6 DNS settings in my ASUS BT10 ZenWifi router seemed to provide resolution, but this time nothing worked. I eventually had to roll back the ASUS firmware to 3.0.0.6.102_36921. That seems to have worked for now, and I’ve filed a ticket with ASUS.

FYI, all the LLM models (Copilot, chatGPT, Gemini) suggested many things to change in the ASUS settings, none of which did anything. However, they all did reach the same conclusion that the router was to blame, not HASS. Indeed, resolution with firmware roll back would support that conclusion.

Just posting here in case someone else is having the same problem, recognizing that due to the specifics, it is not likely widespread.

I only buy asus models which supports asus merlin firmware. Original asus fw is too buggy for serious use, Merlin does a wonderfull job here.

Asus Merlin firmware 100%. That's all I use as well.

Also being that you are on supervised, you may be running into something that is no longer updated and you need to troubleshoot the HA end as well.

I gave up on supervised years ago and loaded HAOS. I am MUCH happier for it.
