Asus WRT just shows device AWAY

Hi guys, im trying to geting started with device tracing. I have a Asus AC 68 router. I have enabled SSH (tested with PUTTY it works).

I have in my config file added

device_tracker:
  • platform: asuswrt
    host: 192.168.2.1
    username: ‘admin’
    password: ‘HIDDEN’
    protocol: telnet
    port: 22
    mode: router
    track_new_devices: yes
    interval_seconds: 10
    consider_home: 180

I got the KNOWN DEVICES YAML and in there i have

huawei_mate_9_pro:
hide_if_away: false
icon:
mac: 18:D2:76:33:DF:2E
name: Sam
picture:
track: yes
vendor: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO.,LTD

And i see the device in HASS but it always shows as AWAY. Do anyone know how i can get it to show AWAY when its away and HOME when the device is HOME?

Thank you in advance guys

I think home assistant does a arp list to get the connected devices to determine who/what devices are home. You can ssh into your router and run arp -a to get a list of connected devices. If listed devices are still showing away, delete you known_devices.yaml file and restart hass.

The issue is likely with your port. SSH default port is 22. Telnet runs over port 23.
