They are with the relay, because I wanted to have the possibility for power-off. And there is a measurement device.
Device died, and I don’t know why. Honestly I didn’t try to debug. There were no physical damage visible tho.

I have 5 without relay - all working fine since oct 2024.
For smartplugs in general i have not had any fail on me, and I have some Verisure smart plugs that still work after 10 years use. The maximum load has been 2kW, electric water heater (now replaced with Aeotec Heavy duty switch), all others max 500W.
I took the easy way out and stopped updating ESPHome after 2025.4.2.
I haven’t had any plugs go offline since.
Old topic but my 2021 plugs are still very much alive in 2026. I’ve got 6 of these (old) plugs.
Last year my spare/test plug had a frozen relay, replaced the relay and it’s working again like a charm.
Similar experience here; four Athom (old version) plugs from 2023; all working fine still.
Yes me too, they work perfectly!
Fleet of 12; half v2 which have been working for three or four years. No heavy duty jobs though.
