Australia - Electrically Certified Hardware

My understanding is that they don’t have repeater functionality anyway, even if you did have a neutral at the switch / dimmer.

If that is the case then something to note for those looking at them. I currently have the plugs and smart bulbs/hue led strip acting as repeaters anyways currently.

Speaking of networks… I will be picking up my U300 lock in a few hours from the post office once its open and will be able to see if it helps mitigate the need to have my S200 Thread Router be restarted every 6am and 6pm via its dedicated zigbee plug since I only have the one P2 sensor on it atm (though I may just leave that as is just for sanity sake as its been stable since implementing that).

Was it the Switch Plate or the Relay you Tried @sparkydave ?

I had a 2 gang light switch.

I am either going to buy those switch plates for the whole house or use the Connect Smart switches as a dumb switch to toggle the relay.

From memory, when I had the electrician around we could only get the Connect Smart Switch to act as WIFI only or Switch Only swapping the Wires between the N and L on the switch. (I will reconfirm this)

MANUAL FOR CONNECT SMART

Afternoon All,

I have just picked up a new Deta 3 gang smart switch 6903HA which I have flashed with ESP.
This model was listed as a series 3 and I am having some issues working out all the correct pin outs for the 3 buttons and relays for this 3 gang series 3 model.

I tried the series 2 esphome config for the 3 gang version but was getting strange results with one of the relays constantly flicking on and off.

Assuming the pin outs are different but just having issue matching up which button and relay to which gpio pin. Wondering if anyone has any of these series 3, 3 gang devices and would be able to share a working config at all?

How did you find these after a while? The MBPRLs I have require a LOT of force to push down. Also I don’t mind the loud click but if the pro can produce the tactile feedback, that would be very useful.

These are not connected switches, so, out of interest, how are you integrating them into your smart home? What benefit do they provide over a traditional rocker switch?

I have shelly dimmers and relays behind them, so the switches are purely toggling inputs for the shellys. These “bell press” switches reset the physical (read “visual”) state so they all look the same regardless of the states of the lights (read “OCD”).

Yeah good, a lot less force required than the MBPRLs and they don’t have the physical clicking noise… definitely the preferable option. I’m having all my old MBPRLs replaced with the pro version

Thanks for that. I’ll order a couple to try, been waiting for an alternative for a while so I’m glad I found your post.

It’s not as tactile as the MBPRL though, sort of a soft consistent feel to it. Not a ‘click’.

I barely use the actual switches any more anyway.

Understood, I ought to try them in person first. Likewise, the mmwave sensors are doing most of the switchings for me at the moment, good for guests though.

The Connect smart switches are on sale again, these have an ESP chip so are easily converted to ESPHome. $5 for a single is a bargain.

It’s a pity they are ugly as … because yeah, nice and cheap.

I have the two switch version in the garage. Bought from Harvey’s year ago. It looks good and the three button is ok but the single is bad

So far I have a double in the garage set up to turn off my power tool chargers. So much crap in that area that no will notice an ugly switch.

The single power points are also back on special again but the vertical design makes it difficult to use in places where there is an exiting horizontal one.

Thanks @gaz99 - bought a few varieties. As far as you know, are these Tuya-convertable, or are they versions where only serial flashing will work?

These are ESP based so it would require Tuya-Convert, as the serial pins are exposed on a header I decided not to bother with trying to set it up.

When you remove the 4 screws the complete mains part comes off and leaves the ESP and switch board on the face plate.

Anyone want a Sonoff Water valve?

https://sonoff.au/products/sonoff-zigbee-smart-water-valve

Surplus to requirements as they only work on mains water.
Connected to Z2M without issue but there’s a minimum pressure requirement that I can’t meet with my ground level gravity fed rain water tank.
