Is it possible to detect structures in the energyconsumption of the house to separate different devices by their energy consumpion profile.
Did anyone research on that? Is it already done? Does anyone have an idea how to manage that?
There are products that can do that an integrate into HA.
The technology have some limitations though.
The technology is good with devices with a fixed usage or few stages, but not so with devices with more fluid states.
Smart bulbs can especially be an issue, because with each combination of brightness, temperature and color setting it will create a new profile.
The picture because even more blurred when you have multiple of those bulbs.
Some of the features can also be provided by the powercalc integration.
It has profiles for many smart bulbs and also options to add fixed values to other devices, if they have a way to detect their state, like a basic smart plug.
