On an Intel NUC i3 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD I am running
Core 2025.2.5
Supervisor 2025.03.2 (This auto updated)
Operating System 14.2
Frontend 20250221.0
I have been running Automatic backups since 2025.2.2 and I backup to the
- System
- My Synology NAS
- OneDrive
- I tried Nabu Casa but it was too slow and not enough capacity for my 4.2GB
Things had been going OK until just recently
I started to get a lot of
- Stream errors
- very slow response from HA
- The occasional unrequested restart of HA
- My Speed tests on HA dropped from 100mbs to 20mbs
Last night the Backup failed to backup to the system and One Drive but did backup to the NAS.
Accessing HA with either Chrome or Firefox was like watching paint dry.
I have a monitor connected to the HDMI port and it could not get a signal.
I decided it was time to power down the NUC and do a cold restart.
That was 2 hours ago and No errors of note. There is one when it was trying to update my Sony TV but that has been there for some time.
Response time from Browser is excellent.
Background.
I live in Cairns Nth Queensland and 2000km away in South East Queensland and Northern NSW are have a major weather event and there is major disruptions to the internet. If I test my network outside the HA NUC it’s showing 100mbs while the NUC was 20mbs? weird!!
It’s now back to 100mbs after cold restart.
I am hopeful that the cold boot has reset whatever was wrong but it does not explain it?
What happens when a Cloud backup destination fails?
Why did the backup fail to the system SSD but worked to the NAS?
I am hopeful that someone may enlighten me.
Thank you
