Automation variable for remembering LED color and brightness

Hello all. After a few years of running HA I’ve come across a question I cannot figure out. I’m hoping to create an automation as an alert that when triggered would be able to read the current brightness and color of an RGB led (no idea how to do this part), flash the LED a specific color for a duration of time (this I can do) and then return the LED to it’s original brightness and color.

I’ve tried a handful of things but nothing seems to work as expected. Thank you all!

Create a scene, flash, then load the scene

Can I create the scene from the current state from the automation?
