Automation with Aqara P1 motion sensor massively delayed

Hi there.

I have an Aqara P1 motion sensor in my hallway that when it detects motion, it turns on a light switch and when it stops detecting motion, it turns it off. Very simple automation which has been working fine for months but this past week or so, there is a huge delay in the light coming on after motion has been detected.

Motion is registered in the Aqara app as well as in Home Assistant and HA even registers that it has processed the automation even though the light is not on.

The only way I can get it to work is to restart HA and then it works for ahile but goes straight back to being delayed.

I have over 1GB of ram in my HA yellow so I know it is nothing to do with a hardware issue. Also, I have plenty of other devices and automations which are functioning perfectly well.

Anyone have any ideas?

I’m assuming the light bulb is zigbee. If you are certain the delay is between the automation turning on the light, and the light actually turning on, then I’d lay money on it being a poor connection on your zigbee network. I’ve had devices in the past do something similar, taking a few seconds to respond. Usually, a power cycle fixes it, or just re-pair the device again.
