Hello,
I read that you should only add the mesh master, i.e. a Fritzbox, in home assistant. However, the Fritz Repeater are then only created as normal devices in the network without any further entities for control.
The entities to check a device (reboot, check firmware, etc.) are only created for devices that are added via the Fritzbox tools integration.
I am aware that AVM has provided the possibility to trigger a fimrware check on devices in the mesh from the mesh master. However, this does not always work reliably.
However, AVM has not intended, for example, a reboot of the mesh master’s network devices.
To anticipate comments that you would never have needed a reboot of the repeater or that you needed a firmware check directly by the repeater: this is nice for you, I need these functions.
At the moment you can now add the repeater with user names “root” + password as separate devices in the Fritzbox tools. However, this sometimes works and sometimes not.
In cases in which it does not work, this message appears:
Einrichtungsfehler, wird erneut versucht: Unable to get a connection: HTTPConnectionPool(host='rep108-310-og.fritz.box', port=49000): Max retries exceeded with url: /igddesc.xml (Caused by NewConnectionError('<urllib3.connection.HTTPConnection object at 0x7f47c07c0c80>: Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 113] Host is unreachable'))
