AVM FRITZ!Box Tools Integration, how can I add Fritz!Repeater to control the repeater

Hello,

There is the integration “AVM FRITZ! Box Tools” with which I can control a Fritzbox.
How can I add FRITZ! Repeater to control it too?
I am concerned with starting the repeater regularly.

The problem: Unlike the FritzBox, the repeater only have a password, no user name.
The Username field is a compulsory field in integration.

The repeater are found as a network device, like any other device in the network.
If I have seen this correctly, I can only restart a device from AVM via the integration if it is added individually as a separate device into the integration.

If relevant, I have 4x Fritz repeater 1750e, 4x Fritz repeater 310, 1x Fritz-Repeater 450e, 1x Fritz-Smart Gateway.
All devices are located in the Mesh network of the FritzBox

So, what exactly you want to control on the repeaters?

They are used in a mesh, so actually all control needed is done on the base router…

In my last 4 years with such a Fritz mesh I never ever needed to restart a repeater

what I want to do:

  • restart Repeaters once a week too, like my fritzbox
  • initiate an update-check

Mesh has nothing to do with managing the repeaters, but refers purely to the Wi-Fi signals emitted and how the Wi-Fi devices are connected.

You can find many videos on YouTube that focus on regularly restarting the Fritzbox. What applies to the router also applies to the repeaters. For example, I was able to resolve an issue where the devices weren’t sending push notifications via email by restarting them.

Regarding updates, you can usually initiate updates on other AVM devices directly from the Fritzbox. However, this hasn’t worked several times in the past. For example, although an update for a 1750e was available and had been installed, the update search via the Fritzbox reported “Devices are up-to-date” for my other 1750e devices.

The update was only found after I initiated the update search in the repeater’s interface.

Still not understanding, why the need for regular restarts… At least here, it was never needed…
