Backup to Synology NAS NFS fails to unmount error

Getting this error. I believe the NFS settings in Synology are correct. See screenshot of HA setup.

Thanks

Did you try Samba? Just asking…

I didn’t because it wasn’t recommended and seems to be more Windows centric? I’ll give it a try. Thanks.

Thanks again. It didn’t work. My apologies in advance for the rant. This entire system is just driving me up a wall. I don’t learn well when I have to look everything up. I follow the instructions and there is ALWAYS some pertinent detail that is left out or glossed over. I went down this path when I bought a Synology NAS and when I setup a Ubiquiti network. Can I do it–sure but beyond the basics none of it easy without knowing quite a bit about the underlying environment.

Did you install the NFS server-side?

I had a similar issue, but it worked previously. Turned out that my server had disabled/stopped the NFS server.
I am using a Ubuntu server as my NFS storage location.

sudo apt install nfs-kernel-server
sudo systemctl start nfs-kernel-server.service

It is most likely your NFS permissions for the specific backup folder on the server.

These sample settings for HA work with Synology and are similar to your posted settings.

Test mapping all users to admin for the backup folder’s NFS permissions and apply the necessary security if that works.
