Bad experience with the Sonoff Dongle-M (Dongle Max)

Yes, it works. But it's worse than the Sonoff dongle-p.

In what specific aspects is the experience worse than Dongle-P?

  1. overall network stability. 2) signal strength. Honestly, I regret buying the dongle-m (2 coordinators).

What exactly do you mean by network stability?

Are you referring to a low LQI value, poor signal strength, delayed control response, or devices going offline?

low LQI value, poor signal strength, delayed control response

Regarding the low LQI issue, we previously published an article explaining this topic. Please refer to that article for more details.

As for the delayed control response issue, how are you connecting to the Dongle? Is it via USB or TCP?

I read an article about LQI. You didn't even measure humidity levels during testing! Most users would be interested in tests with signal penetration through brick/concrete walls.
I've attached a screenshot. the coordinator is yellow in it. The coordinator is physically surrounded by router outlets (7 outlets at a distance of up to 3 meters), but it refuses to connect to them. and the coordinator is connected to sockets that are 7-9 meters away through 3-4 concrete walls)))
The coordinator is connected via TCP.

Yeah, I have one of these and my ZigBee network has been so much less stable since moving from a slzb 06 that broke, I have requested a refund on Amazon and will be getting a slzb mr1 instead as a replacement. Hopefully this will fix all my issues.

@jsalas I want to migrate from sonoff dongle p (CC2652P) to the sonoff plus mg24.
Can you please tell me which firmware are you running and was the stablest for you?

I'm using three dongle max on three instances of zigbee2mqtt and i'm not having much issues with network stability, from my experience devices works fine even with low LQ:

A part from zigbee2mqtt updates&restart some times (for example yesterday) i have < 5 sec disconnections. It can be due to network indeed because i'm using serial over eth (and poe).
But I also had 3+ days of stable continuous connection frequently

And the dongles themself seems not restarted since 28 days

Have you enabled the Remote Gateway feature on Dongle-M?

If we're talking about the Ewelink remote gateway - no. This feature is disabled by default.

Any news on this feature? tnx
