Banlanx custom component discussion

I recently purchased a Pautix LED strip from Amazon and it comes with a Banlanx SP541E controller. The controller is not supported by WLED and during my search, I found ha-banlanx on Github.

The instructions are brief and so I am creating this post to discuss the project and any tips on installation, update or even integrating into HACS.

Let me know if you got anywhere. I bought one with the same controller. I just ordered a zigbee controller on AliExpress that should replace the one it came with. It’s this one : aliexpress. us/item/3256807098235048.html. For me it’s the one with single color. Shipping takes some time and when I get it to work, I’ll report back here. If you had luck with the HA integration of the SP541E, let me know. I couldn’t figure it out yet.

I am also interested (I bought some Oulara COB-strips form Amazon, with the SP548E controller).

And, I hope (at first) for a simple integration into HA, where only the on-off function is supported

  • in order to use a simple button, to simply turn on/off the lightstrip.
  • and then continue to control the advanced stuff (color, intensity, effects) with the included remote, & Banlan-X, & Google/Alexa/…

Why use, for “actual light”:
(and not only to create an “ambient” background/atmosphere)

  • Because these COB light-strips are so “strong” (lumen/light),
  • They deliver a quite okay white light - besides all their other abilities.
  • so, our young people also have them as primary light /like normal light-bulbs.
    …
meaning, that when they enter their room, then they are in the dark - before they switch on these light-strips.
(and an button next to the door/entrance, is practical in this scenario).
    …
Of course, they can give a voice-command, but that is not possible, in the middle of the night (with us all sleeping).

did you have any luck, getting it to work?
