I am replacing my bathroom light fitting shortly. It is turned on via a cord switch which currently is connected to an extractor fan. However, that is "permanently " turned off at it’s own isolation switch. So I need to keep in mind the possibility of that being switched back on.
I want my replacement to integrate with home assistant and am only thinking of white bulbs although cool and warm white would be nice. That does not mean I would not go for rgbw if everything could work together as I guess that would allow for warm and cool white as options.
Given the fan issue, I believe that should be in the ceiling rose between the light fitting and bypassing the fan entirely. In the light switch seems to be an issue re safety of the fan.
So, advice I am after is:
- Would shelly dimmer 2 be possible in the ceiling rose?
- What kind of ceiling light fitting is require I.e. does it have to be classed as dimmable itself?
- There now appear to be hundreds of smart dimmable fittings that are remote/app controlled. I believe it would be silly to combine one of these with the shelly?
- Are there fittings that integrate with HA without any need for a Shelly and, if so, what technology should I be looking for in specs?
Cheers
