Battery Flow Card – Lovelace card for battery storage visualization

Hi everyone,

I’d like to share my new custom Lovelace card for Home Assistant:

Battery Flow Card

Battery Flow Card provides a compact visualization of battery storage systems, including SOC, charging/discharging power, SOC limits and estimated remaining charging or discharging time.

Features

  • Current battery SOC
  • Animated charging and discharging visualization
  • Current battery capacity
  • Charging/discharging power
  • Min./max. SOC indicators
  • Estimated time to the configured SOC limit
  • Power visualization relative to maximum charging/discharging power
  • Responsive layout for desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Full graphical configuration through the Home Assistant card editor
  • Support for bidirectional or separate charging/discharging entities
  • Fixed or entity-based SOC and power limits
  • Multiple languages

Battery Simulator support

The card also has dedicated support for the battery_sim integration by hif2k1.

When a Battery Simulator device is selected in the card editor, the required entities and available limits are detected automatically. No manual assignment of the individual entities is normally required.

The card can also be used with other battery storage systems by manually assigning the relevant Home Assistant entities.

Installation

The card is available through HACS.

You can also open it directly in HACS:

:battery: Help wanted: Automatic battery detection for Battery Flow Card

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on expanding Battery Flow Card to support automatic entity detection for more battery storage systems.

At the moment, the card already supports automatic configuration for the Battery Simulator (“battery_sim”) integration. Users can simply select their battery device in the Home Assistant card editor, and the required entities are detected automatically.

I’d like to extend this functionality to real battery storage systems, such as:

  • Anker SOLIX
  • Zendure
  • Huawei LUNA2000
  • BYD Battery-Box
  • Fronius-connected battery systems
  • Other battery storage systems

What I need from you

If you own one of these batteries and have it integrated into Home Assistant, I’d appreciate your help.

I’m looking for the entity names and entity IDs provided by your integration.

Required information:

Information Description
Battery manufacturer and model e.g. Zendure SolarFlow 2400 AC
Home Assistant integration Name of the integration used
State of Charge (SOC) Current battery level in %
Battery capacity Total battery capacity in kWh
Current stored energy Available as an entity, or calculated from SOC?
Battery power Current charging/discharging power in W
Charging power Separate charging entity, if available
Discharging power Separate discharging entity, if available
Minimum SOC Configured discharge limit in %
Maximum SOC Configured charging limit in %
Maximum charging power
Maximum discharging power Discharging power limit in W

Not every integration provides all these values. Partial information is absolutely fine!

Additional important details

It would also help to know:

  • Does the battery appear as a separate device under Settings → Devices & services → Devices?
  • Are all battery entities assigned to the same device, or are some assigned to the inverter?
  • Does the battery power entity use positive values for charging or discharging?
  • Does your battery consist of multiple modules, and are these represented as separate devices?

How to share your information

You can find the entity IDs under Developer Tools → States in Home Assistant.

A screenshot of your battery device’s entity list or a simple text list would be very helpful.

For example:

Manufacturer: Example BatteryModel: Example 10 kWhIntegration: Example Integration

SOC: sensor.example_battery_socCapacity: sensor.example_battery_capacityStored energy: sensor.example_battery_energyBattery power: sensor.example_battery_powerMinimum SOC: number.example_battery_min_socMaximum SOC: number.example_battery_max_soc

Power convention:Positive = charging
Negative = discharging

Please remove any personal information, IP addresses, serial numbers, or other sensitive identifiers before sharing screenshots.

The goal

My goal is to make Battery Flow Card easier to configure.

Ideally, users will eventually be able to select their battery device in the graphical card editor, without manually assigning all the individual entities.

Of course, manual configuration will remain available for unsupported systems.

Thanks in advance to everyone willing to help with this development!
