I’ve found the Ikea Symfonisk Gen1 (discontinued) but it did not work with ZHA
I’ve also found the Ynoa Dimmer, but it also did not work out of the box on my ZHA.
I’m even inclined to build my own. Although i’m a software developer, I have no idea where I should start as a hardware developer .
I have the feeling i’m missing something. Why is there no battery powered rotary dimmer available? Could even make one without battery and it charges itself by first spinning it up
Is there any one with the same problem? Someone who just wants a normal dimmer?
I’ve been utilizing the Lutron Aurora rotary dimmers (a ‘Friend of Hue’ product), but they’re installed in a Philips Hue hub.
Over a year ago I was using Hubitat, and while the Hue bulbs worked well enough on ZHA the developer of the Hue hub replacement implementation couldn’t get satisfaction with the Aurora dimmers. Not being motivated to replace the 14 or so dimmers, I’m still with the Hue hubs & Auroras.
Though, recently I’ve seen a ZHA Lutron Aurora Dimmer Blueprint has been posted, but I haven’t made an opportunity to test it. You might want to delve into that further. I get really good battery life from the Auroras, and they just work. If the style is not offensive, they’re rather recommendable.
Nice feedback, not sure if I fully understand the product. As in, is it necessary to mount it on top of an existing light switch or can you also just stick it to a flat wall surface( that is what i’m looking for). In the EU, the regular light switches are more flat rockers so I won’t be able to mount the Lutron Aurora rotary dimmer on any light switch. But again, not sure if I could just stick it on the wall? . If so then I think this is what i’m looking for
Thanks for sharing, but for me the esthetics of this dimmer is just . I just want a regular white round rotary dimmer like any other lined dimmer…Me being frustrated there aren’t 14 different brands I can pick from
