Beelink ME Mini N200 as NAS

I recently looked at this mini NAS for my home lab and it looks good. I’m living in China, this allows me to have the N200 version that is not shown in other countries. Here I may buy the ME Mini at 1,165 CNY and 4 x 2TB NVMe Crucial P310 for 3,600 RMB; the total is approx 570€. I want also buy a Hailo8 26TOPS board with M Key for 1230 RMB, appr. 150€, and install to replace the Wifi board.
I read that this unit may have power issues using high consumption NVMe, but using the 4 cards I choose I think will avoid that problem.
I want to run TrueNAS on it to use as as shared disk for home use, and a couple of docker containers: Frigate and Jellyfin . In a Raspberry Pi5 I will run HA using Docker with MQTT, Zigbee2mqtt and other servers for home automation, and integrate in it the servers of ME Mini.
Does anyone think I’ll have any major problems with this setup?

Hello,

Reading the thread on the truenas forum it may seem that the PSU maybe a bit short but also you have to think that the rest of the computer itself is not that power hungry.

I think a N200 is more than capable to run all that for a home user. I guess any issues will depend on how you configure your truenas pools across those drives, your frigate recording strategy (thinking this would be the heavier read/write load) and maybe how much transcoding is your jellyfin going to do. All that will raise the consumption profile of the components.

I will also research power consumption of the inference card, it it consumes more than the WiFi it maybe something to consider.

Worst case scenario you will need another beelink machine to help.

It could be higher but not much as far as I saw. Wifi AX101 PCIe card may consume (according to AI, I cannot find the specs) 2W – 4W with moderate networking, maxmimum 6, while the Hailo8 card per spec. consume 2.5W typical, maximum 8.65W.
You are righ, if it will not work the plan B is to add another miniPC, it could be a GMK.

With Truenas the idea is to organize the 4 memories as 2 mirrors 2x2TB. I will loose some storage capacity compared with RAIDZ1 but I will save CPU load and improve the speed. As for Frigate I still did not started playing with it, I shall learn how to use.
