Beginner needing help

Hi,

As you probably guessed, I’ve not come from a networking or programming background and I find the world of HA insanely confusing. I’ve been trying to add my google nest to HomeKit (via HA) for about 2 weeks now. Using ChatGPT and YouTube tutorials.

I’ve already paid the $5 to start a project on googles device access console but nothing seems to be working. Whenever I ask ChatGPT for help it suggests getting an account for this or a subscription for that (which I’m not doing). Seems to be a real headache.

Can someone please help where I might be going wrong?

Is there another solution that might be easier than this?
I’m aware that HA is very powerful and can automate pretty much everything and open up devices much more than most bridges but I’m not really looking for anything that complicated.

Any help, suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

Are you aware of this: HomeKit Bridge - Home Assistant
and this: HomeKit Device - Home Assistant

And you did find this already? Google Nest - Home Assistant

Hi @bouwew
Thanks for your response. Yes I found all the documentation fine.

I’ve already added HomeKit to my home assistant (that was fine)
But all the integrations for the Nest seem to be outdated. The webpage has changed and things aren’t where they’re meant to be I’ve been going through the details with absolutely no idea what I’m doing wrong.
I have a Client secrets, client IDs, project ID’s but it just never seems to work with home assistant. I’m clearly missing something but I can’t work out what
