Hello,
i am pretty new to HA and everything is working just fine. Just one minor question. I have multiple lamps which are connected to shelly buttons, so my wife and kids can turn them on without any hussle. And there is no power inside the lamp when the bulb is turned off. Inside the lamp is a Ikea Tradfri Bulb which is dimmable. I want to configure my overview, so that the switch of the entity turns on and off the shelly and the bulb symbol is there to dimm the bulb.
In other words, i don´t want to have two entities to configure the lamps. Is that possible?
Yeah, i know about the mesh problems, but maybe i´m a bit old school, but i want to make sure, that there is no power at the bulb when it´s turned off. I think of it from a safety perspective. The other argument is my “wife filter”. She wants to turn the lights on and off at the switch and without the shelly there i wouldn´t be able to turn the lamp back on, when she turned it off.
I have multiple lamps and a lot of aqara sensors and never had a problem with it. Before HA i used Openhab and it worked just fine.
Well, this shelly probably supports detached mode also. So it could act as signaling with wall switch to turn the bulb off. But truth is on/off would be dependant then on HA and bulb would be in some sort of standby mode.
I use something similar myself - yeelight ceiling light, but way before that I installed fibaro relays behind wall switches. So I configured yeelight to power-on when it gets power. And I use conditional card - when it is online, it pops controla for brightness and color (which usually takes up to 30 seconds, since yeelight is running on esphome)
thanks for the reply. Yes, Shelly supports a detached mode. But the argument of no power when there is no light stays. I tried to configure a template like Tinkerer suggested and it works perfectly in my opinion.
But the conditional card is new to me as well, so thanks for the tip
I think I’ve a similar setup (&problem). Are you still using the template light “combining” Shelly & Tradfri? How are your experiences?
Would you share your template? (I’m a real Home Assistant Beginner)
