I see this topic come up every now and then, but curious what the current “best” way to install Home Assistant is on a Raspberry Pi since there are so many options out there (manual, docker, Hassbian, AIO, Hass.io, etc.). I currently use a Hassbian install, but may do a clean install in the next few weeks.
HassIO is not ready yet, so use Hassbian if you want to install now. Once HassIO is available, you can start using that.
This is a really subjective question. Kind of like asking what’s the best ice cream flavor.
Much of it is going to be based on your level of experience and your need for direct customization during the install as well as what other things you are running/going to run.
