Best Motion Activated Light Switch for HA

I currently have the Kasa / TP-Link Motion Activated Light Switch (ES20M) with the “TP-Link Kasa PIR / Motion Sensor Patch for Home Assistant” installed and it works great to detect motion and turn on another light or device.

I contemplating purchasing more of the Kasa Motion Activated Light Switches and was wondering what the community thought of these motion switches and if there is a better alternative.

’m looking for motion switches is to see of there is any other motion switches that support HA better and are kept up to date, ect.

  1. WiFi enabled
  2. No Hub Required
  3. HA can control directly via HomeKit, Matter

I believe / think the above requirements would provide the best integration and response time between HA and the switch.

Thanks for the support.

I’ve not come across this before. Judging by the TP-link page the device is duplicating functions that Home Assistant does already - I think you’ll find that most people on the forum will use separate motion sensors, smart sockets/bulbs and automations.

Nothing wrong with it, but beware of getting trapped in manufacturers’ ecosystems.

I have many vendors integrated to HA. HA is the central Hub now, I’ve been centralizing everything devices, integrations, automations to HA, with the exception of Insteon / ISY Hub which I plan to get rid of and connect the Insteon modem / PLM directly to HA.

Appreciate the comment.
