Hi, I’m renovating a home with my better half and would like to take advantage of the situation to put some smart appliances while light experts who our parents often rely on are present.
I agreed with them that we will put dimmerable led lights with controllers of my choosing which need to be home - assistant friendly (all their solutions costed a fortune and were Bluetooth only) although I’m finding it hard to find some good, reliable dimmers which should do the job
The best solution seem to be a Shelly rgbw2 dimmer with either a bad experience or with esphome installed (I need to understand more how this would work), are you aware of other options? If not, what do you think of it?
Switches should not be considered as they are not pretty enough… The solution would need to be hidden behind a normal switch and managed by home assistant either via wifi or via zigbee
Money is not much of a matter, especially considered how much their alternative costs, reliability is key in this case as I would never hear the end of it should something go wrong with it
Please let me know if you have tips!
Best,
Nicola
