Best Swimming Pool monitoring solution: ORP, Ph, temp

I have the same problem, that only the temperature is shown in Home Assistant with Tuya Integration. :frowning:
I would prefer to let the PH-W218 in my IoT-Wifi, if it is possible ...!
Is the only way to use Tuya Local to fix this issue or are there other options, too?

I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean.
To clarify, the pH-W218 still connects to Wi-Fi (after setup with the official tuya app) and all sensor values are available in the tuya app from the start.
It's just that I went with tuya local integration to get all sensor values in home assistant (over Wi-Fi)

Thank you, that is the same what I need.
But if I will use Tuya Local, than the PH-W218 must be in the same network like home assistant, right?
Or is there even with tuya local an opportunity to separate the tuya device from the main network running home assitant?

I'm not sure if Tuya Local can do cloud polling instead (most of us prefer to remove the cloud dependency)
If you have a separate IoT network it would depend on your network configuration (e.g. SSID, Subnet, vlan, router, firewall) if tuya local can have IP connectivity to the ph-w218.

Did you report the issue with tuya integration?

No, but it seems there where older tickets and noting was fixed ...
Maybe a fix is not possible ... :frowning:

pH-W218 via Tuya Local

BUT (yes a but!!) use others ORP and PH probe, the original ones aren't very accurate, the values were very inconsistent

Check the adapters

Which sensors did you use?

hello

this ones, with the 3d Printed adapter (as post above)

ORP

PH

Today I tried to use the W218 with an Apple USB power supply for testing in house.
But it don't work. Maybe my USB cable is not OK ...

Has anyone tried to use the W218 with another USB power supply and it was working?

It doesn't work, this "USB" is a proprietary power supply that provides two very specific voltages with ground isolation. So this W218 must use its original power supply or something that perfectly mimics its components

Perfect! I've replaced the cb3s just because mine stopped working and I've tried to do everything I could to make it revive but with no success. And I thought that replacing this dead wb3s with an esp32 C3 Super Mini would be easy, but it needed a lot of work to mimic the protocol. It was something that just the Tuya module in esphome couldn't do

Thanks! I thought about doing this and it is definitely possible but I found little to no information about doing it reliably, so I was facing so much challenges already to make it work over wifi that I chose to keep it. Also, since the stream of data isn't that small, I think that wifi is a great choice. If you find anything useful about this zigbee integration please let me know.

ESPhome is capable of doing the full Tuya communication BUT a HA-connection is required! (without it does not get values from the mainboard)
