Best way to have 50 smart switches using Sonoff and HA

Hi

I am trying to add more than 30 smart switches in a 3 storey house. the HA is placed in the GF and I have smart switches which support Zigbee 3.0 across the house.

I am wondering how I can improve the coverage? sometimes it takes along time for HA to find a new device. Also when I run in it tries to add all the switches all at ones.

I also have 3 Unifi WiFi 6 Wireless access points across the house.

Thanks

You need more routers. Have similar config.
Use outlets for routers if you can or smart plugs if you dont want to change outlet.

Which integration are you using to add your devices? Is it ZHA, Z2MQTT or something else?

Asking because I’ve never seen the behaviour you described. Neither ZHA nor Z2M have autodiscovery, and they will only try to add device which are actively in pairing mode.

Please read the pinned topic and provide more details

Smart switches are usually routers.

What do you mean by this?

it depends on the wiring.
If they are wired with neutral then they are, but if you have smart switch with only two wires, without neutral, then they are not

Nope. I have no neutral dimmers that are zigbee routers.

Well i have switches that can be wired with and without neutral. The one that is wired with neutral is acting as router, other without neutral is acting as end device.
Every switch that i have and is wired with neutral is acting as router.
Other that have live and light wire connected are end devices.

There are other devices available than the ones you are using.

I know that. Technology is going further every day. But this is the ones I have and I don’t plan to change them any time soon except something dies.

Then why did you say this, which is clearly false?

Were you going to provide additional context? It may be helpful to the OP by providing the brand you are referencing. Stating No Neutral routers don’t exist is not helpful. They do exist, I have a few.

Oh god damm… I was referring to your statement

OP can check if those switches are routers or end devices.
By his description it is very likely that those switches are end devices.

Check if they don’t use the same channel as your Zigbee coordinator.

Thanks for the information. All my switches have Neutral as well and I believe they’re all acting as router as I don’t have issue reaching far ends of the house in different floors, but some switches are stuck in pairing mode and HA is not able to find them.
How can I make sure that a device is Router or End Device?
This is a sample of my switches

Those devices are routers, but can you clarify what integration you are using?

ZHA or Z2MQTT?

That will help provide the method for viewing your ZigBee map and identifying:

  • Signal Strength
  • Device Type
  • Dormant devices
  • Mesh Quality
  • and more…

From the manufacturer

  • zigbee mesh networking, Nue zigbee switches work as zigbee signal repeater as well and easily cover whole house
