[Beta Testers Needed] Introducing Pixora Locator - Bring your location data into HA

Introducing Pixora Locator

Pixora Locator is location sharing without the surveillance—built for people who want to stay connected, coordinate plans, and know the people they care about are safe without surrendering their privacy. Share precisely, approximately, temporarily, or only when it matters; create Places, plan Trips, form temporary groups, receive meaningful arrival and safety alerts, and decide exactly who sees what and for how long. There are no driving scores, no judgment, no permanent record of everywhere you’ve been, and no expectation that anyone should watch a moving dot all day. Whether you’re checking that someone arrived safely, meeting friends at a concert, taking a family road trip, or asking for help, Locator gives you the reassurance you need—and gives everyone else the freedom they deserve.

Pixora Locator: private by choice, connected when it counts.

We have finished the Google Play internal testing phase and are now moving on to the Closed Testing phase.

I’m looking for at least 12 Android users to test Pixora Locator before its public Google Play release. Testing lasts a minimum of 14 continuous days and involves installing the private test version, trying its location-sharing and safety features, and reporting any problems or confusing behavior.

Home Assistant Requirements:

Once the Android app is officially launched in the Google Play store, we’ll start the testing phase of the Apple version!

Explore more of what this app can do at https://www.PixoraHQ.com/locator .

  1. Follow these steps on your Android phone.
  2. Visit groups.google.com/g/pixorahq.
  3. Press Join group.
  4. Visit play.google.com/apps/testing/com.pixorahq.family.
  5. Press Become a tester.
  6. Follow the Google Play link and install Locator.
  • Remain opted in for at least 14 consecutive days.
  • Beta open to USA/Canada only. Others can thank the EU restrictions/requirements for this not being available!
  • Final pricing, after beta, isn’t set in stone but looking at $4.99/month and $49.99/year.
  • Integrates natively with Home Assistant (free app)
  • The first 5 testers from this community, will get free LIFETIME access!

Did you try this?
Hasn’t failed me yet.
Good luck with your project, though. If this is an improvement that we all win.

I’ve been using the native app on 4 different model phones for 2 yrs and its OK, not great but it works fine most of the time - but I have about 1 to 3 times in 2 years, per phone, needed to reinstall to get location to work. It just stops working.

“in the old days” (before I was on HA) I used 3rd party apps and they worked great until… dun-dun-da-da… Android updates hosed GPS update speed and accuracy, If Pixora Locator has somehow overcome those please let us know how - I suspect that might interest many

Give it a try and you tell me! lol. Right now it’s only 3 family members running the closed beta and it works great. No issues with GPS dropping out so far.

You have nothing to lose by trying it and if you like it, the first 5 testers are getting free lifetime access!

Im in, will DM you. I do a TON with location awareness in my automation, it will get a workout.

Thanks for the share but don’t see the point to use a closed app and cloud to do something I could directly with Companion app and HA without leaking my location data at third parties

Update: just added a way to import your zones from the HA Companion app without disturbing your setup. Try Locator side by side.

But, in the future???

yes, pricing isn’t set in stone yet but looking at $4.99 a month and $49.99 a year, per household. That’s half the price of the lowest paid tier Life360 offers. All without selling your personal data.

One more try… 7 spots still available, lifetime subscription included for all who join in! What do you have to lose!?

Thanks
