Binary Sensor: Shows as "22" when open

I’m running HA via the TrueNAS SCALE/TrueCHARTS app with zwavejs2mqtt.

I’ve added a garage sensor and a binary reed sensor to zwavejs, and they show up in HA.

The problem is that when the door/windows sensor is “closed” it displays the state as “Door/Window is closed” and when it’s “Open” it displays as “22.”

I’m assuming that 22 is simply the raw state value for “Open.”

How do I get HA to display “22” as “Open.”

Hi - also having same issue with Door/Window sensors Aeotec and Fibaro so issue looks to cover multiple Zwave devices. Zigbee Window sensors are ok.

Also intrested in a resoltion

One week into ST—>HA migration and everything has been super smooth. This is the first issue I’ve encountered. :slightly_smiling_face:
Not sure in what layer this sort of thing should be fixed… I’d like for sensor state and automations to be configured with understandable values.
Weird that the closed state shows properly. Maybe there is just a missing value mapping somewhere?

I was able to get around this issue by switching the sensor I was watching on the device.

I temporarily enabled all the sensors and found one the changed from on/off depending on sensor state.

When I went into this sensor’s settings, changing the type to ‘garage’ made the two options open/closed.

Just installed my first one of these and have the same closed/22 reporting. Did anyone find a fix?

I looked for another sensor per jmp81 but there isn’t another showing the state on mine:
