Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble getting Blue Iris MQTT integration to work properly with Home Assistant. I’ve gone through the documentation and done the following so far:
- I have MQTT enabled and configured in Blue Iris.
- The Blue Iris MQTT test successfully shows up in MQTT Explorer, and it also hits the MQTT Listening tool in Home Assistant.
However, I can’t seem to get beyond this point. I’m unsure how to proceed with setting up sensors, triggers, or actions in Home Assistant using the MQTT messages coming from Blue Iris. I suspect I might be missing something in the configuration process, but I can’t pinpoint it.
What I’ve Tried:
Verified that MQTT messages are being sent by Blue Iris to the broker.
Confirmed that Home Assistant is receiving the messages using the MQTT Listener.
Tested different payloads and topics in Blue Iris.
Despite this, I can’t seem to get Home Assistant to act on the MQTT messages (e.g., creating sensors or automations).
I know this doesn’t explain a lot, but I’m willing to pay someone for their time to help me troubleshoot and get this running over Discord. Any help, suggestions, or resources would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your time!
