Hi,

Am I missing something?

Hi,
I created a Blueprint some time ago and have been updating semi-regularly. I have a large update to make but I’m no longer able to edit my own topic to update it.
Am I missing something?
Thanks
What do you mean by “topic” in this context?
How do you edit?
What do you mean by “not able to” in this context?
Apologies for not being clear.
I created a topic in the Blueprint section of the community, this one:
I used to be able to click a red pencil / click edit to update the text and the blueprint yaml on my original post. If you look at the edits, I’ve made 24 changes over a period of a few years. Neither option is available anymore. If I click the pencil icon at the top of my original post I can only review the changes between each edit.
I appreciate this isn’t a help desk but where on earth do you post when the Community forum isn’t working as it has or is as expected?
Thanks
I thought it was expected behavior since it was my first blueprint published recently but I tried to make a minor edit a week and a half later and I had to make the update in an addendum post. I had assumed I had to keep an edit 7 days old or less but apparently this is new behavior?
Interesting. It’s definitely different to how it used to be but I don’t know when it changed.
So new users here only a few days and not a lot of topics read will have restricted access to updating their stuff. Being hammered with Spammers has caused some permission changes. However I would expect someone to be able to update a 2023 post. A Mod can look at it and let you know what is happening.
Not heard anything so still not able to update the Blueprint. I understand the need to stop spammers but my (and others) being locked out of our own Blueprint topics doesn’t half undermine the purpose behind them and the rules for successful import and updating for everyone who chooses to use them.
I’m loathe to post another topic as I’ll lose access after 7 days and won’t be able to make any fixes to the new version.
Bad times.
You are a basic user level.
Your posts should show the edit pencil which allows you to edit.
Yep, that’s what I used to have, this is what I see now
How does the tutorial help when an option I had has gone? Genuine question, is there something I’m missing?
There is this search which gets you a list of mods. Pick one of them that have been here more recently and ask them.

Will do, thanks
Just to complete this thread. I’ve followed up with a mod and no help has been offered other than I need to meet the trust criteria on a rolling 100 day period.
I’ve explained that with work (ironically I’m a software engineer
) and life means that’s not going to be possible on top of maintaining a contribution to the community but that’s where we are.
Seems incredibly short sighted to push away people who have and want to continue to contribute but can’t live and breathe the HA community to meet the onerous rules.
