My RPi4 is in a steel cabinet at the front of my house & want to try & get a little more range for my Xiaomi Temp Sensor, so are wondering if connecting a Bluetooth dongle on a USB extension cable outside the cabinet would work? I’ve already got a TPLink dongle to test with, but do I need to do anything to hassio to get it to use that adapter & potentially disable the onboard adapter?
Does the bluetooth dongle work for Rpi4 or is the support only for internal?
The dongle worked straight out of the box. The range is a bit average, but is through a wall.
