Bluetooth not discovering devices in container

I’m running home assistant in a container on TrueNAS. I am using the BT802 usb long range bluetooth adapter. I made sure the dbus and bluez are installed in truenas and that the firmware files for my bluetooth adapter are loaded correctly. I have mapped /run/dbus into my home assistant container and I can run a bluetooth scan from the shell on my host and within my container and both of them successfully find bluetooth devices.

What I cannot do is have it discover any bluetooth devices. I was able to discover my level lock device that uses homekit and communicates with bluetooth and I was able to control it so the bluetooth adapter is coming in and working.

I tried adding

device_tracker:
  - platform: bluetooth_tracker

to my configuration.yaml file but that resulted in me getting the following error message in my logs:

Logger: homeassistant.components.bluetooth_tracker.device_tracker
Source: components/bluetooth_tracker/device_tracker.py:73
Integration: bluetooth_tracker (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 11:01:06 AM (10 occurrences)
Last logged: 11:02:42 AM

Couldn't discover bluetooth devices: [Errno 97] Address family not supported by protocol

Any ideas what I need to do to have it auto discover bluetooth devices?

Hi friend, I am facing the same issue. Any chances you were able to resolve this?
