I just had a question, i absolutely love the built in Bluetooth presence detection on HassOs
My question is is there a way to keep the sensor from announcing (via google tts) unless the sensor hasn’t been detected for a set amount of time. For example when I arrive home and step into my garage the sensor almost immediately sees my phone which is awesome but if I walk into the backyard then go back into the garage it’s knows I’m there and says welcome home again. I would love to put something in so unless I’m gone for say 60 mins it won’t fire the automation. I hope this makes sense.
Also how would I go about getting the tts to Welcome multiple people home at the same time. As I have it set now if My wife and me both arrive home at the same time tts or our mp3 will fire one or the others welcome home. Would love to get personalized announcements maybe even random personal announcements to fire.
Thanks all! Have a great day!
How did you manage to get Bluetooth tracking working? What’s in your config to make it work? Because I can’t even get it to work.
Hello,
I have a iPhone, if I place my phone in Bluetooth searching then restart my HA after reboot my device shows as a sensor, I did this for a few of my family members who don’t live here so they can get a personalized greeting when they come over. Then I use my Home app to trigger the sound when presence is detected. So far it works pretty good. Very close range that part is good is good but if I am doing yard work and walk around the yard it might go off a few times. I’m trying to figure that part out.
I wonder if this can be set to not trigger if the sensor hasn’t been triggered in a set amount of time, maybe 60 mins or so…
I think this should be as simple as setting up a group for all your tracking devices. Then, modify your google tts automation so that it uses the group instead of the individual tracking devices.
