Bounty: I'll pay for development of: multi-login/Permissions feature

(related thread: Mulitple HA + RPI deployments for multi-unit building?)

Can anyone suggest a dev who might be interested.

Feature Story:

  • Use one HA deployment to control multiple hubs/devices in a multi-unit building
  • Allow various users to login via OAuth or some other method
  • Assign user permissions to specific hubs or devices
  • Users can only access/control those devices on those hubs

Questions:

  • I am not super familiar with HA architecture, can anyone suggest how this might be possible ?
  • I am interested in even coding myself, but time is a factor… perhaps someone can help me plan this and we share the work and I pay for your development time

I’d vote yes if it would let me!

Yeah, I don’t think the voting system is working - I haven’t been able to vote on anything and I have only a couple of super votes.

I’m going to tag @fabaff on this message so when he gets a chance to see it, he’ll be aware of the voting issue.

(Sorry to go OT, folks.)

Tim - Have you posted this ‘bounty’ anywhere else, like Reddit? I’m just thinking cause I saw the original thread and I was going to suggest the HA subreddit just to increase the scope. Maybe someone who doesn’t spend to much time on the forums or is a reddit reg.

Just trying to help.

also on the chat room, maybe try and get the project owner.

Yeah, looks like the voting feature didn’t survive the last update.

@rpitera - post to r/homeassistant? or /r/homeautomation … doesnt look like /r/homeassistant is very active?

It’s not but it is also a different group of users you can expose this to. That was my point.
