Brand new user, confused about what version I've installed on my Odroid N2+, Docker?

Hello all. Please be kind.
I bought an N2+ with emmc module. I flashed it as per the instructions in the Homeassistant install pages, specifically, how to install on the N2+ without having to have a card reader.

I downloaded the latest version haos_odroid-n2-9.5.img.xz. I flashed it successfully using Etcher. I re-boot in MMC mode and logged into port 8183 on my network, IP assigned by DHCP.

I was pretty proud of myself at this point, had the HA startup page in my browser. The ODroid was at a screen ending with an ha>.

So I start to read the instructions about enabling IC2. I logged into the HA machine in a different TTY. And I see all sorts of Docker stuff and the daemon is running. I didn’t want to install the Docker version, I wanted to install the Home Assistant Operating System: Minimal Operating System. That’s what I clicked.

What have I done wrong? Why do I seem to have the wrong version?

And do I need to enable IC2 and if so, by what method?

You did not do anything wrong. HA OS is a minimal linux OS with a bunch of docker containers installed to run HA.
Don’t know about IC2, in all the years I have used HA, I don’t think I ever used it.

Do you mean I2C? No clue about “IC2”…
If so, for sure, if you don’t know if you need it, you don’t. It’s a protocol used for talking to additional hardware components hooked to your device.

If you installed haos_odroid-n2-9.5.img.xz, then you installed home assistant operating system.

Perhaps you then forgot to login via a browser on port 8123

Like the posters, I have no idea what ic2 means.

Go to Settings > System > About and you will see details about your installation.

Or, even better, go to the System Info page and this info will be on the top:
Open your Home Assistant instance and show information about your system.

Thanks all. I fee better. And yes, I meant I2C. It was on this page of the HA installation instructions, so I thought it was essential.

No, control panel (not sure what you call it) is fine on my network connecting over that port. I was actually looking using the shell on the Odroid and seeing all this Docker stuff.

Type login at the ha> shell
