Bricked HA Green. Cannot reset natively or via SD card

Hi. HA newbie so please be gentle. I have a HA green which I never really configured properly as I am transitioning from Hubitat and currently use that as my primary smart home system. I decided to spend some time getting HA set up properly so decided to reset my HA Green and start from scratch. Big mistake. If I try to restore natively I get the Home Assistant CLI not Starting, jump to Emergency Console message. Typing LOGIN at the bash prompt does not solve the issue. I’m not sure what else I can do from there. If I try to reset HA using the SD card method, the installation hangs on the message “A start job is running for Wait Until Kernel Time Synchronized” I’ve let that run overnight so I don’t think that will solve itself.

I don’t know what to try from here. My linux skills are zero so while I can follow instructions, I don’t know enough about the OS to figure this out myself. Thanks in advance.

This could happen because the Green is not getting the current time from the internet. Is the Green connected to the Internet?

Yes it is via ethernet

There could be a number of reasons why it is waiting for the time to be synchronized:

  1. bad ethernet cable - try another cable
  2. hardware problem on the green - return the green for a replacement
  3. DNS / network configuration issue - verify that DNS is working properly on your network
  4. bad / corrupted SD card - try a new SD card.
